ASCLA Leadership Session @ MW: Getting to Know You

The ASCLA Leadership session will be on Saturday February 10 from 1:30 – 3:00 (CCC Rm 301). It is a time for current, past, and future member leaders to gain information and skills to improve services and the member experience through the Board, Committees, and Interest Groups. This year we will use the session for dialog with new Executive Director, Jessica Hughes and with each other.

With a new Executive Director, with a pending merger with the Federal and Armed Forces Round Table (FAFLRT), and with changes evolving in ALA, this is a perfect time for ASCLA members to get to know the effects of these transitions on the many parts that comprise our “small but mighty” division. We invite attendees to:

  • Give a 3-minute elevator speech to tell Jessica and other members about their role in ASCLA
    • Member, Advocate, Interest Group Member, Committee Member, Board, Elected or Appointed Office, etc.
  • Share a wish list of how the ASCLA staff can assist you in your role(s)
  • Tell how ASCLA can help Committees, Interest Groups, etc. effectively use technology and new models of participation for sustainable member involvement

All ASCLA and FAFLRT members are invited. The ASCLA Leadership Session immediately precedes the ASCLA All Committee Meeting (Saturday, February 10, 2018, 3:30 – 5:30 at Colorado Convention Center, Room 605/607).
