Interest Groups

ASCLA’s interest groups include members who gather virtually via ALA Connect and at conferences to share knowledge and enthusiasm for a specific subject.

Interest groups are able to contribute to ASCLA through educational webinars or eCourses, conference events, programs and/or preconferences, news articles to be featured on www.ascladirect.org or publish standards and guidelines, books and/or tipsheets as well as a discussion forum for members or even a new ASCLA product such as an online tutorial.

Interest groups offer you a valuable opportunity to contribute to your profession and engage with colleagues throughout the country as well as take on leadership roles. Members can join or leave interest groups at their discretion.

Simply do one of the following:

  1. Call MACS (ALA’s member services department) at the following number: 1-800-545-2433, x5 and request to have the interest group added to your membership, or:
  2. Send an email to [email protected] with your request to be added to the interest group with subject line: ASCLA free interest groups, or:
  3. As long as your membership is current and has more than 4 months left in your membership year, go online and add the interest group(s) to your membership record. You must use your ALA logon & password to be able to access your membership record online

ALA members, who are not ASCLA members, may join any ASCLA interest group free-of-charge for one year.

If you are a non-ASCLA member, please contact [email protected] to join an ASCLA interest group.
